A caregiver is an assistant who assists the elderly, disabled or sick in areas of daily life that require assistance.
They are not nurses or medical staff, but they help patients eat, bathe, use the bathroom, move around, take medications, and assist with daily living.
Nursing care workers can work in various industries, nursing homes, hospitals, and homes, and perform their duties by obtaining various certification courses and licenses.
Because they work so closely with the elderly or sick, they need a moral sense, human understanding and patience. A caregiver’s important job is to help patients and the elderly maintain a healthier and more comfortable daily life.
2. What is the salary of a caregiver?
Caregiver – Salary
The current salary of nursing care workers varies depending on experience, region, workplace, etc., but we will inform you of the general salary.
Currently, family caregivers can receive between 440,000 won and 930,000 won assuming that they work for 1 hour (60 minutes) to 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes) every day.
General nursing care workers working in institutions are set at an hourly wage of about 12,000 won, which is higher than the minimum hourly wage. The government-designated labor cost is 2.4 million won per month, but it is known to be between 2 million won and 3 million won if you work 5 days a week or work on weekends.
There is also a tendency for caregivers to earn higher salaries as they gain experience. Also, your pay may be higher if your institution is a hospital or if you are employed by a large company.
However, because the work of a nursing care worker is very difficult and labor-intensive, there are cases in which the working conditions and welfare benefits are not good compared to the remuneration. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to improve the remuneration and working environment of nursing care workers.
3. Eligibility to take the caregiver certification
The following qualifications are required to obtain a caregiver license:

If you already have national qualifications (licenses) such as nurses, nursing assistants, physical therapists, social workers, and occupational therapists, you only need to receive 40 to 50 hours of training.
