<Age limit for driver’s license test>

1 Register for driver’s license written test
ID photo (3.5cm X 4.5cm)
Identification card (any ID card with a clear face photo, resident registration card, passport, civil service card, national technical license, etc.)
Physical examination (KRW 6,000)

Prepare the above materials and go to the driver’s license test center to apply. Since you can apply online, you can take the test on the date you want if you visit us after registering online in advance.
Since you must receive safety training before taking the test, please check the ‘driver’s license test order’ in item 3.
<Physical examination>
The body is tested to see if there are any problems with driving.
1. Vision test
– Visual acuity of 0.5 or better in both eyes
– Visual acuity measured with both eyes open at the same time is 0.8 or more for type 1 and 0.5 or more for type 2
– A person who is blind in one eye cannot apply for a Class 1 large, special driver’s license
– A person who is blind in one eye can apply for a Class 2 driver’s license if the visual acuity in the primary eye is 0.6 or higher.
2. Color identification
– Must be able to identify red, green and yellow. (Division of traffic lights)
3. Hearing
– Wear hearing aids and be able to hear sounds above 40 decibels. 55 decibels or more for Class 1 large vehicles and special licenses.

It is convenient to prepare for the driver’s license written test through the driver’s license written test practice test app. It is convenient to search for ‘driver’s license written test’ on the Play Store or App Store, install an app with a good user rating, and then take the mock test repeatedly.
In addition, the safe driving integrated civil application site provides the driver’s license test question bank as a PDF file. PDF files can be viewed directly with web browsers such as Chrome.
Since the subject test question bank is regularly updated every year, it is recommended to look at the latest question of the year. A total of 40 questions are randomly selected from the question bank, so you can pass the test just by looking at the question bank.

3 Driving license test order
1. Traffic safety education before application
Materials: ID
Prior to taking the written test, you must complete traffic safety education. You can apply on the Safe Driving Integrated Civil Service website and receive training.
2. Physical examination
Cost: 6,000 won
You must have a physical exam at a driver’s license test center or hospital. Please note that Mungyeong, Gangneung, Taebaek, and Gwangyang test sites do not have physical examiners.
3. Written test (departmental test)
Materials: application form, ID card, 3 ID photos taken within 6 months
Cost: 10,000 won
<How to register for the driver’s license written test online>
1. Online reservations for departmental exams can be made up to one day in advance (reservations cannot be made on the day of the exam), and reservations and changes can be made between 7:30 am and 10:00 pm.
2. Reservators must bring their ID and materials (fee, 3 color photos), visit the test center at least 30 minutes before the reservation time, fill out the application form, and complete the application process for the departmental test.
Same-day registration and same-day exams are available, so you can visit in person and take the exam immediately after registering, but we recommend that you register online and take the exam just in case.
4. Function test
Materials: application form, ID
Fee: 22,000 won
Like the written test, you can apply at the driver’s license test center or online.
1. Online application and changeable time: 7:30 am to 10:00 pm
2. Application for the same-day test is available up to 1 hour before the start of the test. (Exams before 09:00 cannot be rescheduled online on the same day, tests before 10:00 can be changed via the Internet or by visiting the test center)
3. You must arrive at the test site 30 minutes before the start of the test.
Students must pass the skill test within one year from the date of passing the written test (departmental test). After one year, you will have to take the written exam again.

5. Issuance of practice license
After passing the department test and the intestinal function test, you must obtain a practice license and prepare for the road test.
1. Only those who have passed the departmental test and intestinal function can be issued a practice license.
2. The validity period of the practice license is one year.
3. Reissuance of a lost practice license can be issued only after visiting the driver’s license test center.
6. Road test
Materials: ID card, application form
Fee: 25,000 won
After you have been issued a learner’s license and have completed road driving practice, you can take the test. If you fail the road driving test, you can retake it after 3 days. You can also apply for road driving online.
7. Issuance of driver’s license
Materials: Application form that passed the final examination, ID card, and one ID photo taken within the last 6 months
Fee: 8,000 won
If you pass all the tests, you will be issued a driver’s license. Congratulations.
